There was nothing anyone could do. So we all watched, filled with an ever shifting phantasmagoria of emotion, a churning sea of forgotten feelings and nameless sensations. The event had activated some obscure primeval impetus which compelled us to gather there in silence. This phenomena proliferated with Mercurial swiftness; Inexplicably hundreds found they had business in that area, all of whom happened to discover the burgeoning congregation. More came and the crowd grew, all the while silence disseminated itself reaching the birds and the cars and the cacophonous symphony of the city. ***
